An open invitation has been extended to the residents of Lexington County and other interested persons to meet Representative Nikki Haley on Thursday, January 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lexington County Council chambers. Representative Haley will be the guest of honor at this first in a series of “Meet your Representative” events. She has been invited to speak about her background, political philosophy and goals for the coming legislative session. She is also expected to talk about the “2009 Spending Accountability Act.” After her comments, she will take questions from the audience.

“Nikki Haley is leading the charge to make the government of South Carolina accountable to the people of this state,” said Talbert Black, Jr., a precinct leader for Campaign for Liberty, and sponsor of the event. Mr. Black added, “With this exciting and animated speaker, you will not be disappointed. We expect an open and interactive meeting with Mrs. Haley.” All in attendance will receive information on how to contact their representatives in the State House.

The county council chambers are located on the 2nd floor of the county administration building at 212 South Lake Drive, next to the county courthouse.

If you plan to attend or would like more information, contact Talbert Black, Jr., at talbertjr1@alltel.net or (803) 767-1152. There is no charge to attend, but organizers need to know how many are attending in order to assure adequate seating.

Lexington County requires the following notice to be published by all groups using their facilities: “This meeting is open to the public and is neither sponsored nor endorsed by Lexington County. Views expressed are those of the program sponsors and do not necessarily reflect the policies or opinions of the County.”
