COLUMBIA, S.C. – Governor-elect Nikki Haley today released the following statement:

“This morning, as we do every year, Michael and I had the pleasure of thanking my brother, a veteran of Desert Storm, for his service to our country. And as he always does, he reminded me that those who have sacrificed for us and for the freedoms that define this great nation, deserve our thanks not just today – their day – but every day of the year.

“So today, and tomorrow, and all the days going forward, let us remember and honor our veterans. They have kept us safe, they have made us proud, and they represent the very best of our nation.

“May God bless our men and women in uniform, past and present. May He bless the families that keep them strong. And may He continue to bless the United States of America.”
