Friends,
These are tough economic times, and never has it been more important that we prioritize spending and make sure government is funding just what it needs – and no more.
Yet that lesson – one that the rest of us practice daily in our families and our businesses – is lost on so many in Columbia. And there’s no better example of that than seeing the South Carolina House vote in favor of sending $10 million taxpayer dollars to bailout a PGA golf tournament.
That’s right – not to job training or to economic development or to families with children with disabilities, but to a professional golf tournament.
Fortunately, there are still some elected officials who understand the role of government, who understand that people pay tax dollars into the system and that how the legislature spends them matters.
Nikki Haley is one of them.
Click below to watch Nikki take on the status quo in Columbia, a status quo that has for far too long looked out for the best interests of legislators and their pet projects and not the people of our state.
We need more common sense in Columbia and more conservative leadership that stands up against taxpayer-funded golf tournaments, bank bailouts, and stimulus plans that don’t even exist.
And we need your help to get it. So please join us as we continue to advocate true fiscal conservatism that protects the taxpayer – not just legislators’ favorite tourist attractions.
With your continued help, we can push to victory in June and show South Carolinians what a government that works for the best interests of the people and not the power of the legislature looks like.
Best,
Tim Pearson
