“The fact that our unemployment rate continues to grow despite the repeated bailouts and so-called ‘stimulus’ Washington forced down on our state shows that the path to economic recovery lies not in growing our government but in strengthening our businesses and our people. We need to rid our state of the small business income tax so we give our businesses cash flow and they can put South Carolinians back to work. We need to skill our workers so those forty-four thousand open South Carolina jobs aren’t filled by people out of state and out of country. And we need a government that is pro-business first, last, and always, that no longer accepts the passage of government-friendly legislation but instead focuses day-in and day-out on what we can do to make our state competitive.”
