Last night we had our first gubernatorial debate at the Newberry Opera House sponsored by WISTV and the Newberry and Laurens GOP.  We had a great response, and have some exciting news to share:

“According to the…final poll of viewers watching online, 44% thought Rep. Haley won the debate.” – WIS TV

Here are the results:

Nikki Haley: 44%
Henry McMaster: 23%
Andre Bauer: 13%
Larry Grooms: 11%
Gresham Barrett: 9%

Nearly half of those watching the debate thought our message of getting government back to work for the people, protecting taxpayers, creating a healthy, competitive business climate through tax reform, and bringing transparency to government is exactly what this state needs.  In fact, the debate went so well our support was almost twice that of our closest competitor.

That we so convincingly won the first major event of this campaign is huge, and gives us exactly the kind of the momentum that will carry us across the finish line next June.  But it’s important that we keep it going, and for that I need your help.
